new fansite.

I'm so sorry I didn't update the blog in the last few weeks. Had lots of things to do for school and had a lot of ski training. I also thought it would be a great idea to do a Lindsey Vonn-fansite, so I was pretty busy with that...

The site isn't completely done yet but I'll let you know when it's online! I won't close the blog but if you want to get news about Lindsey, then visit the fansite!

GAP Super G

I'm sorry I didn't update the blog in the last 2 days. I had to do a lot of things for school, because I was training with the Skiclub in Austria...therefore I missed some learning material.

On Tuesday was the Super-G in Garmisch. I couldn't unfortunately watch the race, because I was so busy with my own training...but I asked my mom to send me a text message when the race is finished.

Lindsey finished the race as 7th and I think that's a pretty good result. Certainly it's a pity she couldn't defend her Super-G title from Val d'Isére 2009 but she still has to struggle with her concussion. That's why I say it's almost perfect to finish 7th (: And I'm sure there aren’t many skiers who could do that. On tuesday evening Lindsey told us in Facebook that during her SG run it became very clearly to her she isn't completely recovered from her concussion. She said she isn't 100% and has problems with concentration and agility. This is why she decided to skip training runs and events until she feels normal again. After she finished today's DH training run as 46th her racing status is still uncertain but I read in "USA Today" Lindsey will start in tomorrow's SC, but she'll treat the first run like a training and if all goes well she'll try  to enter the SL in the afternoon. In my opinion this is a very smart decision, because Lindsey's health is the most important thing and if her concussion makes any problems on this unsafe course she should stop the race. Such a concussion is quite dangerous and unpredictable...and I don't want her to crash or to get injured again. This would be the most awful thing.

But what makes me a little more confident is that Lindsey said is feeling better today. She took yesterday completely off, just sat in a dark room and did nothing. She woke up with no headache and she said, she felt like today's training run was a pretty good step in the right direction. I'd say this sounds very good and it was absolutely great to see her smiling again after today's training run ;)

I'm sure sunday will be perfect for Lindsey, because she'll win the gold medal :) I'll keep my fingers crossed for her and root for her as always :) And she's always a winner, no matter what happens and no matter if she wins the gold medal on sunday or not...Go Lindsey! :)

Alpine Skiing World Championships & Laureus

Just watched the opening ceremony of the Alpine Skiing World Championships in Garmisch. It was a fantastic ceremony and I'm so excited about it. The light effects were awesome, Christina Stürmer's performance was absolutely great and I liked these kids who were talking about their hometown Garmisch. Only Angela Merkel's speech was a little bit strange...whatever...it was such a great atmosphere...even at home in front of my TV ;)
The only thing I'm disappointed about is the unsafe hill. Lindsey told us on Facebook today, she's very disappointed and shocked at the condition of the hill. It's very bumpy and icy pond from top to bottom. It maybe has been injected with a lot of water. Lindsey said she has never seen a course prepared like that and she fears there'll be a lot of DNF's and crashes.
I was extremely shocked when I read this and I totally agree with Lindsey. And I think it was the right decision to tell everybody about these conditions. I can't believe the FIS is so careless and wants the athletes to race on such courses. I mean, the health of the athletes is the most important thing and there were so many crashes this season...I don't know what to say...It's just careless in my opinion. Even if the FIS maybe isn't 100% at fault for these conditions...but like i said, it's still careless..

I hope so much Lindsey takes care of herself and will have safe runs! It would be the most awful thing if she crashes or get injured! On one side I'm so scared this could be too dangerous for her, because of her concussion...but on the other side I'm absolutely sure and confident she'll have great and safe runs...because she's absolutely the best ;)

In the end I want to tell you that Lindsey won the Laureus Sportswoman of the Year Award! That's so awesome and I'm so happy for her! She deserves it so much!

I wish Lindsey all the best for the world championships and I'll root for her and I'm keeping my fingers crossed for her as always! I know she'll have great runs! Go Lindsey!

Lindsey's races in Zwiesel

This was a good weekend. Friday was the Slalom in Zwiesel. Lindsey decided not to race, because of her concussion, and Maria DNF'd the 1st run. So in my opinion it happened nothing spectacular ;) I think Lindsey made the right decision on Friday, because such a concussion can be very dangerous and her health is the most important thing.

Today was the GS in Zwiesel and I think it was a great one. I just watched a little summary of the 2nd run, because I also had a GS today and I could only watch the 1st run live on my coach's laptop. If you want to know, my GS wasn't perfect but still pretty good. I finished my 1st run as 8th and was 10th after the 2nd run. I'm not completely happy with my runs and I know I can do it better but I think 10th place is acceptable, especially because my knee felt a little bit unwell today.

And I think Lindsey's GS today was great, too. She did very well. When I watched the 1st run live I was really worried about her and I had a strange anxiety she could crash again. As far as I know she felt better today but I was afraid it could be too dangerous for her to race today. But I was still sure she'll do the right thing. That's one of the reasons I admire her (: She started as 16th and I was nearly freaking out while she had her run ;) I think it was a really great run, especially because of her concussion. She finished the 1st run as 14th and I was really happy about it :)

When I watched the summary of the 2nd run I was a little bit more relaxed. Lindsey finished as 18th and she had also a great 2nd run! I know that 18th normally isn't that good...but, as you know, she had a concussion and wasn't 100%. She didn't race for a few days. For that reason it was a great performance today and I'm sure there aren't many skiers, who would race that good in such situations, like she did. She's simply the best and awesome (: Another good thing is, that Maria Riesch was 11th today so she also didn't make much points. The difference in the overall standing between Lindsey and Maria is now 156 points! That's okay in my opinion!

Now I wish Lindsey all the best for the world championships in Garmisch and I'm keeping my fingers crossed for her and root for her as always (:  Hope so much I'll also race in the world championships someday (: It would be so fantastic..(:

I want to share this video with you I made for Lindsey. It's the first video I made with Windows Movie Maker so it isn't perfect. But I hope you like it!

Lindsey crashed

Lindsey had a bad crash yesterday in her GS training in Hinterreit, Austria. She slammed her head on the slope and had to got to the hospital to get a CT scan. I'm glad the scan showed no major injuries and I hope so much she's feeling well. I'm very worried about her now and I hope there's truly no head injury :(

Take care of yourself Lindsey, your healthiness is the most important thing! (:

Here is a video of the pretty horrible crash

Races in Sestriere cancelled

Okay...today's DH and tomorrow's SC are both cancelled due to the same bad weather as yesterday. It's no improvement forecast till Tuesday. I'm so sorry for Lindsey the races got cancelled and I'm sure this is very disappointing. I hope so much she isn't too sad about it. I'll update you as soon as possible when I know if they can postpone today's cancelled races...I hope so much there is any possibility...
But I'm looking forward to next races in Arber-Zwiesel. Wishing Lindsey all the best and I'm confident she'll have great runs (:

Now off to the slope...I have my first GS today and I'm so extremely nervous. My knee eventually feels better and I hope I don't crash again today. I absolutely want to win this race...or want to rank at least among the best...I think I'm really capable to have a great run, but the problem is I always put too much pressure on myself and make avoidable mistakes. Well, let's hope all goes smoothly...Before I went to Bavaria last night with my coach and the other girls, my boyfriend gave me a T-Shirt with a picture of Lindsey on it as a lucky charm...he created it on spreadshirt.com...cute idea ;)...Hope it helps me ;)

Many greets, Bianca

DH in Sestriere

That was nice...a race day without a race -.-

Today's DH in Sestriere was cancelled due to thick fog. After several postponements they decided to reschedule the DH to tomorrow. I hope so much for Lindsey the weather gets better and they can start the race. (:
I too have a race tomorrow...and it would be so great if Lindsey wins and my run also works well...:) But I'm happy no matter what happens and if she wins or not. Most important is that her knee feels better and that she'll have a safe run!

The racers also got new startnumbers. Lindsey starts as 22nd! I wish her all the best and a great, fast and safe race! Keeping my fingers crossed for her as always (: Good luck, Lindsey! (:

first Training in Sestriere

Speed-Queen Lindsey finished the first DH training in Sestriere with 1 minute 42.72 seconds  as 3rd! This is a great result and I'm happy for her she didn't crash or made serious mistakes. I was worried about her because of her near-crash in Cortina...but now I'm relieved she had this great training run. Tomorrow is another DH training and I'm sure she'll have another great run!
Looking forward to the weekend! I'm confident she'll win the races in Sestriere :)

Theres a new video online on Lindsey's Homepage. The first part of the Portrait 2011.
I really like it and want to share it with you (:
