I'm sorry I didn't update the blog in the last 2 days. I had to do a lot of things for school, because I was training with the Skiclub in Austria...therefore I missed some learning material.
On Tuesday was the Super-G in Garmisch. I couldn't unfortunately watch the race, because I was so busy with my own training...but I asked my mom to send me a text message when the race is finished.
Lindsey finished the race as 7th and I think that's a pretty good result. Certainly it's a pity she couldn't defend her Super-G title from Val d'Isére 2009 but she still has to struggle with her concussion. That's why I say it's almost perfect to finish 7th (: And I'm sure there aren’t many skiers who could do that. On tuesday evening Lindsey told us in Facebook that during her SG run it became very clearly to her she isn't completely recovered from her concussion. She said she isn't 100% and has problems with concentration and agility. This is why she decided to skip training runs and events until she feels normal again. After she finished today's DH training run as 46th her racing status is still uncertain but I read in "USA Today" Lindsey will start in tomorrow's SC, but she'll treat the first run like a training and if all goes well she'll try to enter the SL in the afternoon. In my opinion this is a very smart decision, because Lindsey's health is the most important thing and if her concussion makes any problems on this unsafe course she should stop the race. Such a concussion is quite dangerous and unpredictable...and I don't want her to crash or to get injured again. This would be the most awful thing.
But what makes me a little more confident is that Lindsey said is feeling better today. She took yesterday completely off, just sat in a dark room and did nothing. She woke up with no headache and she said, she felt like today's training run was a pretty good step in the right direction. I'd say this sounds very good and it was absolutely great to see her smiling again after today's training run ;)
I'm sure sunday will be perfect for Lindsey, because she'll win the gold medal :) I'll keep my fingers crossed for her and root for her as always :) And she's always a winner, no matter what happens and no matter if she wins the gold medal on sunday or not...Go Lindsey! :)
